Quick Time Filter (Travel Time & Distance Matrix)
Summary
This tool filters out which locations fall inside and outside of a travel time catchment area and groups them. It then calculates travel times from an origin to many destinations. It is possible to use this to create a travel time or distance matrix.

Using the tool
Select the point layer to be filtered. Note – without a point layer selected, the tool will be greyed out and inaccessible.
Select the tool by clicking on it, then open the dialogue box under the dropdown arrow. Fill in the parameters, then either:
- Enter an address, and click ‘Run’
- Enter a lat-long point, and click ‘Run’
- Click on the map canvas
A new layer will be added to the project with the time. This layer is a ‘temporary layer’. If you need to save it, right click on it in the legend, and choose ‘Make permanent’.

Things to note
The magnifying glass button can be used to verify the address or lat-long has been geocoded correctly, before running the tool.
