Shape on map shows where's reachable in a time limit
How we calculate drive times
We use our own model to calculate drive times by applying specific driving speeds to individual roads. We have different speeds for city roads, rural roads and also time delays for traffic lights, roundabouts and more.
A radius is a circle, however, a driving catchment area is not a perfect circular shape. It must follow road networks and drive times in urban areas look different from rural drive shapes. The shape is often called a drive time polygon or isochrone.
